In 2022 SPARK made grants to many different organisations based in Kesgrave with the grants being used for a variety of purposes including equipment, sports clothing, hall or room hire charges.
Some of the recipients were:
Heath School, Gorseland School, Cedarwood School and Kesgrave High School
Heath School received a grant from SPARK in order to purchase a tree and plaque to commemorate the Queens Jubilee, Cedarwood School receive a similar grant and used theirs to purchase a bench and plaque for the same occasion.
Cedarwood School also received a grant to develop our Learning Outside the Classroom project. The school has involved the children in the development of the project and they have made suggestions for things they would like to include. They have suggested some wooden dens and tables under our oak trees that they can access as quiet spaces during break times and classes would also be able to use for lessons.
Ipswich Walking Football Club (based at KWMCC all weather pitch)
Kesgrave Library
Kesgrave Library loan out board games to the community, as you can imagine these are well used and some are nearing the end, a SPARK grant has enabled the library to buy replacement games to continue this loan scheme in Kesgrave.
Kesgrave Computer Club
Kesgrave Come & Play
Kesgrave Come & Play received a SPARK grant to start-up a childrens play group in the Scout Hall by purchasing equipment.
Kesgrave Allotment & Gardening Association (KALGA)
KALGA (Kesgrave Allotment and Leisure Gardening Association) requested help with the purchase of a larger shed for the members to meet in a more central location to promote a community feel to their site. The shed is also used for Lapwing who provide for 4 – 25 year olds who have additional and/or special needs and education, this would encourage attendance during less favourable weather.
Forget Me Not Café
The Forget Me Not Café is held each Wednesday 10:00 – 12:00 in the Bowls Pavillion at Kesgrave and provides a place for those having difficulties with memory or have dementia to come and join in activities with supportive staff. SPARK have helped with a grant to purchase crafting materials for users.
Kesgrave Town Council
SPARK Trustees have agreed to work in partnership with Kesgrave Town Council to help fund activities in the town which may not normally fall within their remit, for example the Fun Day, Tea Dances and other social events. It is hoped this will allow these much loved events to continue during what is a difficult time for many people.
Kesgrave Army Cadet Force
Kesgrave Army Cadet Force have moved location to the Millenium Jubilee Hall and applied for a grant to buy new equipment for the young people who belong to the detachment. SPARK have agreed to make the grant and are working with the cadets and Kesgrave Town Council to source a suitable storage shed at the location.

SPARK would like to remind those who run or organise activities in Kesgrave that help with funding is still available from SPARK, even if you have had a grant before, and only subject to a few qualifying criteria,
